Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Apply symptomatic treatment if intoxication sign appear,

refer to hospital or doctor.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash carefully.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash carefully.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: No specific treatment can be suggested and no antidotes are

known. Apply symptomatic treatment, gastric lavage. Refer to

hospital or doctor.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: CO2, foam, waterfog, dry chemicals.

Product arising from burning: HCl, HF and HCN may be evolved.

(Information derived from previous experience of analogues

products).

Product determined by test: Y

Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear appropriate protective equipment and clothing.

Absorb spilled liquid with dry clay, sawdust or diatomaceus

earth, then sweep up and place in a waste disposal

container. Flush contaminated area with detergent and water,

avoid discharge to the waste water system.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handle with the care due to any chemical. Minimise contact

with eyes and skin by wearing appropriate protective

clothing and equipment. Wear protection over nose and mouth.

Storage: Store the product in its unopened and undamaged original

packages, in well aired cool and dry stores or in shady and

well ventilated places. It is recommended that the product

be kept away from sources of heat, sparks or flames. The

storage areas should be located at suitable distance from

inhabited buildings, animal shelters and food stores, and

should be inaccessible to unauthorized people and domestic

animals.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Technical tetraconazole:

120 Lt drums in polyethylene HD HMWPE

Preparations:

1 or 5 Lt receptacles

in polyethylene-glue-ethylenevinyl alcohol closed with a

heat-sealed gasket with a polypropylene plug with internal

threading

or

in high-density polyethylene closed with aluminium membrane

for heat induction and a plastic cap or with a polypropilene

cap with inner thread.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: The product degradates when exposed to strong alkalies or to

overheating.

Chemical reaction with water: Stable in water.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery/recycling of used substance cannot be envisaged

under pratical conditions.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: There are no specific procedures or means of neutralization

of potentially hazardous effects.

In case of ingestion no specific treatment or antidote can

be suggested. Apply symptomatic treatment and gastric

lavage. In case of fire adopt normal procedures for

protection against possible formation of HF, HCl and

HCN.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Dilute with solvent or other materials to reduce the

chlorine content to 2% max. Use a suitable hoven fed by a

mixture of air and methane at 1100-1200 C. Convey in an

absorption system with aqueous suspension of 18-20 % Ca(OH)2

the HF and HCl which form.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery/recycling of used substance cannot be envisaged

under practical conditions.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: There are no specific procedures or means of neutralization

of potentially hazardous effects.

In case of ingestion no specific treatment or antidote can

be suggested. Apply symptomatic treatment and gastric

lavage. No antidote is known. No specific treatments are

known.

In case of fire adopt normal procedures for protec-

tion against possible formation of HF, HCl and HCN.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance is slowly degraded.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: See 6.1.5

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance is slowly degraded.
