Danger other than fire: High concentrations of airborne particles may be explosive.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance can be recovered by extraction with

tetrahydrofuran or corn oil.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended due to lack of water solubility, low

biodegradability and toxicity to aquatic species.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be incinerated at a suitable facility

fitted with waste gas treatment to remove aluminium

compounds. Formation of dust clouds should be avoided.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not be released to surface waters or

waste water treatment plants. The substance can be

recovered, if necessary, from water systems by filtration.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from paper is not possible. No effect on paper

recycling is envisaged. However, it may pose a hazard to the

environment if released.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Paper containing the substance may be disposed as household

waste. Toner containing the substance has an LC50 for fish

>1000 mg/l.
