Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment In all cases, remove contaminated
clothing.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately irrigate with eyewash solution or cold water,
holding the eyelids apart, for at least ten minutes. Obtain
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water. If symptoms occur, obtain medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water. Seek medical attention,
symptomatic treatment, if necessary.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.
Product arising from burning: Carbon, nitrogen and sulfur oxides together with some soot.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Moisten spillage with water, sweep up and shovel into waste
drums or bags. Dispose of waste by incineration at an
approved facility or by landfill at a controlled site.
Disposal should be in accordance with local, state or
national legislation.
Handling and storage
Handling: Control dust formation in a manner that is appropriate to
the operation being carried out, eg. careful handling or
engineering control measures such as local exhaust
ventilation.
Storage: Keep away from heat.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Not given, 6th amendment notification.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not economically possible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Experience with similar compounds indicate that the
substance will be very stable and resistant to chemical
treatment.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Do not discharge to water. Disposal at a controlled landfill
site is possible.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. A temperature of >950 deg C should be
used together with waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen
and sulphur oxides.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended in view of the low solubility and high
stability of the substance.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not feasible.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
Packaging printed with ink containing the substance may be
disposed of as domestic waste.
