Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Carbon dioxide, foam and
water are suitable extinguishing agents.
Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Products of combustion may
contain oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulphur with some
hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride and soot.
Protective equipment: Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus
should be worn when extinguishing fires.

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect spill and place into labelled waste containers for
disposal by incineration.
Handling and storage
Handling: Handle under exhaust ventilation. Avoid contact with skin
and eyes and inhalation of the substance. If engineering
controls are insufficient (eg to remove dusts), wear
suitable protective clothing, gloves, eye protection and a
dust mask.
Storage: Store in tightly closed containers, avoid substance
residues from collecting on the storage containers.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal in sealed containers at an authorised site is
possible.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. Exhausted dyebath liquors can be
sprayed onto domestic waste prior to incineration. Waste
gas treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and sulphur and
hydrogen chloride and fluoride is recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended. The substance will be largely eliminated
by precipitation and adsorption onto the sludge.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will enter the public domain in the form of
articles. recovery from articles is not possible.
