First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient fron exposure.

Obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water,

holding the eyelids apart, for at least 15 minutes. Obtain

immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with water. Obtain

immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.

Protective equipment: A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective

clothing should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Ensure suitable protective clothing during removal of

spillages. Damp down and sweep up into a container for

disposal.

Wash the spillage area with water. Disposal should be in

accordance with local, state or national legislation.

Handling and storage

Handling: Do not breathe dust.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

The material is low toxicity dust. Local exhaust ventilation

is used when the material is weighed out. Specific PPE is

not required; operators wear nitrile rubber gloves and

standard laboratory safety glasses. Nitrile rubber is used

because it is compatible with other chemicals used in the

process rather than being specifically required for TTP

Magenta 3.

Storage: Keep container tightly closed and dry.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Plastic open top drums, steel/fibreboard open top with

polythene liner.
