Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with running water for at least 10 minutes.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash substance from the mouth with water. Do not induce

vomiting. Give 250 ml of cold water to dilute stomach

contents.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and

sulphur oxides together with some metal oxide smoke and

soot. Suitable extinguishing media are carbon dioxide, foam

or dry powder.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Dampen spilt material and collect for disposal. Waste

material may be destroyed by incineration. Waste ash will

contain copper and should be disposed of in accordance with

local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Use normal hygiene precautions. In the event of prolonged

or repeated exposure use engineering controls to minimise

exposure. Where this is not reasonably practicable, wear

polyethylene gloves, chemical spectacles and a dust

respirator (eg BS 2091).

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance may be recovered by solvent extraction using

tetrahydrofuran or toluene.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous effects.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. Waste gas treatment to remove sulphur

and nitrogen oxides should be used. Dispose of ash in

accordance with local regulations for copper contaminated

waste.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended, the substance is sparingly soluble in

water. The substance may be recovered from water

purification systems by filtration.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
