Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water, seek medical attention if necessary.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. Use a protective skin ointment.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and
sulphur oxides together with some soot. Water is the
preferred extinguishing agent but all others are suitable.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In case of leakage, absorb using suitable material or
dilute with water and collect using a pump. Put waste
material in suitable, labelled containers for disposal by
incineration. Observe the precautions under "Handling"
above.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance is only stable in water. Avoid contact with
skin and eyes, wear gloves and eye/face protection. During
filling operations, container outlets should be protected
against splashes. Ensure employees and customers are aware
of the hazardous properties eg. by safety data sheet.

Storage: Store in closed containers in a cool location away from
direct sunlight. On long term storage, carbon dioxide is
produced. If stored below 15 deg C the substance is stable.
To minimise storage times, the substance is only produced
when needed and used as soon as possible.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Uncontaminated substance may be recycled during the
production process. In other situations, recovery for reuse
is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: "None" [The UK c.a. has asked the FRG c.a. to reconsider in
light of structure and Xi/R43 classification]

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. Waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen
and sulphur oxides should be used

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
