Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The 48 h EL50 of the test substance to Daphnia magna for immobilisation was > 10 mg/L (nominal loading rate).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study was performed to assess the acute toxicity of the test substance to Daphnia magna according to OECD Guideline 202 and EU Method C.2 in compliance with GLP. A group of twenty Daphnia, aged less than 24 hours old, was exposed to a WAF of the test substance prepared from an aqueous mixture with an initial nominal loading rate of 10 mg/L (direct addition of the test substance to the diluent media). To aid dissolution, the aqueous mixture was stirred for approximately 24 hours in the dark, then left to stand for another 24 h in the dark before the aqueous phase was removed and filtered (0.2 µm pore size cellulose nitrate). The resulting WAF was used in the test. Concentrations were not verified analytically because of the high insolubility of the substance; results were therefore expressed as nominal loading rates. Observations of the Daphnia were made after 24 and 48 hours. No immobilisation or sub-lethal effects were noted. Under the test conditions, the 48 h EL50 of the test substance to Daphnia magna for immobilisation was >10 mg/L (nominal loading rate).
