The partition coefficient of the substance fatty acids, C8 -10, mixed esters with adipic acid and trimethylolpropane (CAS 95912 -89 -3) was determined according to EU Method A.8 with HPLC method. The reference item is listed as reference item with the second highest log pow=5.7, DDT (log pow=6.2) was not used due to toxicological reasons; therefore the partition coefficient is deduced to be log pow > 5.7. The partition coefficient determined by QSAR calculation with KOWWIN (v1.68) for the single components log Pow =10.64 - 13.59 is reported with restrictions, due to the fact that this substance is long chain fatty acid ester which exceeds the applicability domain of KOWWIN. Therefore the partition coefficient of the substance, deduced to be > 10, is supporting.
