First-aid measures

DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES

General advice : No hazards which require special first aid measures.

Inhalation : No hazards which require special first aid measures. If inhaled, remove to fresh

air.

Skin contact : Wash with water and soap as a precaution.

Eye contact : Flush eyes with water as a precaution.

Ingestion : No hazards which require special first aid measures.

MOST IMPORTANT SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS, BOTH ACUTE AND DELAYED

Symptoms : not applicable

INDICATION OF ANY IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION AND SPECIAL TREATMENT NEEDED

Treatment : Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

Suitable extinguishing media: Foam, Dry powder, Water spray jet, Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons: High volume water jet

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE

Specific hazards during: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS

Special protective equipment for firefighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information: Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

Personal precautions: Spilled material is a slipping hazard.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS

Environmental precautions: Do not let product enter drains. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer

system. Material will clog plumbing rapidly, especially in contact with cold water.

Prevent groundwater contamination. Prevent spreading over a wide area (e.g.by containment or oil barriers).

METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP

Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Large spills should be collected mechanically (remove by pumping) for disposal. Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING

Advice on safe handling: No special precautions required.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

Fire-fighting class: Fires involving liquids or liquid containing substances. Also includes substances

which become liquid at elevated temperatures.

CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE, INCLUDING ANY INCOMPATIBILITIES

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Store at room temperature in the original container. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.
