EC number: 293-263-8 | CAS number: 91053-01-9 A complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained from distillation of the butadiene-free C4 fraction of a naphtha steam-cracking process. It consists predominantly of olefinic hydrocarbons having carbon numbers of C8, C12, C16 and C20 and boiling in the range of approximately 170°C to 185°C (338°F to 365°F).

Description of key information
A C12 member of this category was shown to be readily biodegradable as 93.9% was degraded after 28 days. This data is read-across to all the streams of this category. Therefore, the category is considered to be readily biodegradable.
Structural analysis of the streams indicates that they are not expected to undergo hydrolysis due to the lack of hydrolysable functional groups. Experimental data are not available for any category members on bioaccumulation potential or Koc. In the absence of measured data, the biodegradation half-lives, BCF and Koc of these streams have been predicted based on EpiSuite QSARs. This resulted in BCF values in the range of 144.54 to 5248.07 L/kg, and log Koc values in the range of 2.38 to 8.5.
