Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Stability

In accordance with Annex X of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, information regarding phototransformation in air, as well as in water and soil, is not mandatory information requirement.

In Annex VIII Column 2 of the of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals states that a study on the Hydrolysis as function of pH does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. Therefore, a study on the Hydrolysis as function of pH is not required as Alchisor CAL 123 is readily biodegradable.

Biodegradation

In water:

Annex IX column 2 of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, it states that a study on the Biodegradation in Water and Sediment and a study on Biodegradation in soil does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. Therefore, a study on the Biodegradation in Water and Sediment and a study on Biodegradation in soil is not required as Alchisor CAL 123 is readily biodegradable.

In water and sediment:

In accordance with Annex VIII Column 2 of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, the water and sediment simulation testing (required in Section 9.2.1) does not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable.

In soil:

In accordance with Annex VIII Column 2 of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, the soil simulation testing (required in Section 9.2.1) does not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable.

In mode of biodegradation:

In accordance with the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, `mode of degradation in actual use' is not a standard information requirement.

Bioaccumulation

Alchisor CAL 123 comprises alkenes C11-12, hydroformylation products, distillation residues. In accordance with REACH Annex IX, the requirement for a bioaccumulation study is waived on the basis of ready biodegradability, low toxicity to aquatic organisms and the absence of toxicity to mammals as it is considered to be unlikely to cause secondary poisoning in higher organisms. No reliable measured bioconcentration information is available for Alchisor CAL 123.

Transport and Distribution

In accordance with Annex VIII Column 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, the adsorption/desorption screening test (required in Section 9.3.1) does not need to be conducted as the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly.
