The flash point of Dodecane was determined to be 79.3 °C, hardly deviating from the literature value (78.6 °C, ASTM D 7094, Table X1.1).

For the determination of the initial temperature of flash point measurement, a screen test was performed with the test item. The sample was heated from 30 °C to 200 °C using 5.5 °C/min heating rate. Based on this preliminary test the flash point of the test item was determined to be: 132.4 °C.

In the course of the study three subsequent tests with the test item were carried out. The measured flash points were: 132.4 °C, 131.4 °C and 132.4 °C resulting a mean value: 132 °C at 101.3 kPa.

The repeatability criterion was met because the maximum difference between replicate determinations was not more than 2 °C.
