Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The chemical safety assessment according to Annex I of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 does not indicate the need to investigate further the toxicity to terrestrial plants.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test substance is not supposed to be directly applied to soil and an indirect exposure to soil via sewage sludge transfer is unlikely since the substance is readily biodegradable. For a substance being considered as „readily biodegradable“, it can be assumed that it will be biodegraded within the STP process and as a consequence a transfer to the soil compartment is not expected. Therefore, no tests on terrestrial organisms are provided. Soybean oil, epoxidized, reaction products with methanol is readily biodegradable. Therefore, rapid and ultimate degradation in the environment, including soil, can be expected. Chronic exposure of terrestrial organisms is thus very unlikely. Furthermore, this substance did not show aquatic toxicity. These results indicate no toxicity to terrestrial organisms is expected either.
