Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Estimated based on individual solubilities:

Log Pow= 4.6 at 20°C and at pH 6.5

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
4.6
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The determinations were done according to OECD Guideline 105, flask method and analyzed by UV/VIS.

Due to the fact of the differences in the solubility of the test item in water and in n-octanol the determination of the log Pow corresponding to the OECD Guideline 107 (shake flask method) is not feasible. Because the test item cannot be chromatographed under the prescribed conditions the HPLC-method (OECD Guideline 117) is also not feasible. Due to this, the log Pow can only be estimated from the single solubilities of the test item in water and in n-octanol.

Higher concentrated solutions in n-octanol were found to be not filterable (tested during the pre-tests) and therefore no higher concentrated solutions than 35.00 g/100 g were prepared.

At 20°C and at pH 6.5 the following logPow values were found:

logPow= 4.51 with a water solubility at loading rate of 0.1 g/L via UV/Vis

logPow= 4.61 with a water solubilty at loading rate of 1.0 g/L via UV/Vis

As both logPow values are very close it can be suggested that the logPow of test substance was estimated to be 4.6 at 20°C at pH 6.5
