First-aid measures

GENERAL INFORMATION: Remove contaminated or soaked clothing (including underwear and shoes) immediately. Also heed the risks to your own person.

FOLLOWING SKIN CONTACT: Wash the skin immediately with plenty of soap and water. Carefully clean hair, under the nails, and other hidden areas/ hidden spots. In case of blueness of lips, skin or nails (cyanosis) let the person breathe oxygen. No consumption of alcohol after product contact. In any case consult a physician.

FOLLOWING EYE CONTACT: Open the eyelids and rinse for an adequate length of time with water. Consult an eye specialist immediately.

UPON SWALLOWING: Ensure that the patient drinks water. The mouth should be rinsed out several times. Consult a doctor.

UPON INHALATION: The patient should be taken out into the fresh air, kept warm and allowed to rest. If the patient has breathing difficulties,

medical attention must be obtained.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: All extinguishing materials are suitable.

Firemen have to wear selfcontained breathing apparatus. Fight fire in early stages if safe to do so. In fire situation involving the surrounding

area, cool the containers down with water.

Accidental release measures

Take up mechanically. Fill into labelled, sealable containers. Avoid inhaling dust. Ensure adequate ventilation/exhaust ventilation. Keep

unauthorized persons away.

Use the necessary personal protective equipment when handling.

Handling and storage

Ensure effective ventilation. Transfer and handle product only in a closed system. Make sure all pipelines, tanks and equipment are leakproof.

Protect from moisture and do not expose to temperatures above 160 °C.

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each Manufacturing site.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection: in case of insufficient ventilation or higher concentration of vapours respiratory protection must be worn, an air-fed mask, or for short periods of work, a combination of charcoal filter and particulate filter is recommended.

Eye protection: closely fitting goggles.

Hand protection: e.g. gloves of rubber or PVC

Other protective equipment: protective clothing.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes and the inhalation of vapour. Wash hands before breaks and at end of work. Keep working clothes separate.

Stability and reactivity

Formation of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ammonia, aromatic amines and other toxic gases in the event of fire or during thermal decomposition.

Disposal considerations

Disposal methods of the substance/preparation:

Must be disposed of in compliance with the respective national regulations.

             

Disposal methods of the contaminated packaging:

Incinerate at a reserved and approved place in accordance with regulations.
