Conclusions:
The initial boiling temperature of the test item has been determined to be 115 °C, at atmospheric pressure (1013.3 hPa).
Executive summary:

The initial boiling point of the test item was measured under GLP according to OECD 103 / EU A2 guideline, by two DSC measurements in aluminium crucibles with a hole showed a multistage endothermal effect in the temperature range of 115-265 °C. A measurement with the capillary method was performed to clarify the results of the DSC measurements. Since this measurement was performed only as a verifying screening a high heating rate of 10 K/min was chosen. Under consideration of the results from the DSC measurements and the capillary method it was concluded that the test item boiled under decomposition starting at approximately 115 °C.

Description of key information

The test item had boiled at atmospheric pressure (1013.3 hPa) under decomposition starting at 115°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
115 °C

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to a recognized OECD/EC method and under GLP, is available. It is considered as a key study.

Two DSC measurements in aluminium crucibles with a hole showed a multistage endothermal effect in the temperature range of 115-265 °C. No further endothermic or exothermic effects were observed up to the final temperature (500 °C). The mass loss after the DSC measurements amounted to 100 %. A measurement with the capillary method was performed to clarify the results of the DSC measurements. Since this measurement was performed only as a verifying screening a high heating rate of 10 K/min was chosen and therefore the absolute temperature values derived with the capillary method are not as accurate as the DSC results. The filling height of the test item was approximately 5 mm. Under consideration of the results from the DSC measurements and the capillary method it was concluded that the test item boiled under decomposition starting at approximately 115 °C.
