Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

METHOD
Instrument: Q50 thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) (TA Instruments, USA)
Surface of the glass plate: 0.50 cm2

The experiments were performed under a flow of nitrogen and at atmospheric pressure.
PERFORMANCE OF THE TEST
An amount of 12.6 or 17.3 mg of the mortared test substance was applied to the surface of a roughened glass plate as a homogeneous layer using a suspension of the test substance in n-hexane. The plate was dried at 30°C under nitrogen in the TGA.Temperature program:
Start temperature:    50°C
Isothermal intervals:  10 minutes
Increment steps:   10°C
End temperature:   140°C

The weight loss of the test substance was measured continuously as a function of time at defined isothermal temperatures. At temperatures below the melting point of the test substance (i.e. 87°C) , no significant weight loss was observed. The vapour pressure of the test substance was determined using the data obtained at temperatures > melting point .The test substance results were compared with the results of the reference substance hexachlorobenzene from the validation test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.002 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The weight losses of the test substance were obtained with at temperatures above the melting temperature of the test substance. According to this, the vapour pressure of the test substance (which was extrapolated to 20°C and 25°C) could be slightly overestimated.

The vapour pressure of Corfree® M1 diacid mixture at 20°C is < 1.5E-3 Pa.

The vapour pressure of Corfree® M1 diacid mixture at 25°C is < 5.8E-3 Pa.
