Results and discussion

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Key result
Relative self-ignition temperature:
>= 400 °C
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

Any other information on results incl. tables

Negative result was obtained. No spontaneous ignition occured and no exothermic effect of the test item was observed.

In accordance with UN guideline, no further testing is required. The sample consistency was unchanged.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The substance demonstrated no self-ignition and no exothermic effect on heating at up to 400°C.
Executive summary:

The self-heating (auto-flammability) was investigated in accordance with EC A.16. The preliminary study was conducted using a programmable laboratory oven, a stainless steel wire mesh cube, NiCr/NiAl thermocouples and a temperature recording device. The test cube was filled with the test substance and placed in the center of oven. The oven temperature was heated from 20.1°C to 400.4°C at a rate of 0.5°C / minute and the sample was cooled to determine the substance consistency after heating. No self-ignition and exothermic effect were observed during the preliminary study, and therefore, no further investigation was required. The test item(substance) is not considered a 'self-heating substance'.
