First-aid measures

Measures indicated are for the substance at 50 - 70% concentration in synthetic oil, as marketed.

General advice: Move out of dangerous area and consult a physician.

If inhaled: If unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical advice. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

In case of skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off with soap and plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician. In case of burns apply cold water until pain subsides then seek medical advice.

In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Continue rinsing eyes during transport to hospital. Remove contact lenses. Protect unharmed eye. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If eye irritation persists, get medical advice.

If swallowed: Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Take victim immediately to hospital.

Fire-fighting measures

Measures indicated are for the substance at 50 - 70% concentration in synthetic oil, as marketed.

Suitable extinguishing media:  Use water fog, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide (CO2) to extinguish flames

Combustibility: Not classified as flammable or combustible, but will combust if ignited.

Hazardous combustion products: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and unburned hydrocarbons (smoke).

Protective equipment and precautions for firefighters:

In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazard to health.

Fire Fighting Instructions:

Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.

Accidental release measures

Measures indicated are for the substance at 50 - 70% concentration in synthetic oil, as marketed.

Personal precautions :

Ensure adequate ventilation. Use personal protective equipment. Avoid dust formation and breathing dust.

Environmental precautions:

Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water. Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Methods for cleaning up:

Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly while observing environmental regulations. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Scrape up with shovels into a suitable container for later disposal. Report spills as required to appropriate authorities. Seek the advice of a specialist before using dispersants. Dispose of according to local regulations.

Handling and storage

Measures indicated are for the substance at 50 - 70% concentration in synthetic oil, as marketed.

HANDLING

Avoid formation of respirable particles. Do not breathe vapours/dust. Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. May cause sensitisation of susceptible persons by skin contact. Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area. Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations. Handle and open container with care.

Avoid dust formation. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed.

STORAGE

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.

No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Measures indicated are for the substance at 50 - 70% concentration in synthetic oil, as marketed

EXPOSURE CONTROLS

No special requirements under ordinary conditions of use and with adequate ventilation.

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection: In the case of dust or aerosol formation use respirator with an approved filter. The applicable European standard can be found in EN 140, EN 137, EN 143, EN 14387.

Hand protection

Polyvinyl alcohol or nitrile- butyl-rubber gloves. Before removing gloves clean them with soap and water. Observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time. When handling hot material, use heat resistant gloves.

The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.

Eye/face protection :

Eye wash bottle with pure water. Tightly fitting safety goggles. Wear face-shield and protective suit for abnormal processing problems.

Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

The applicable European standard can be found in EN 166.

Skin and body protection :

Dust impervious protective suit. Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place. Long sleeved clothing. The applicable European standard can be found in EN 14605.

Advice on general occupational hygiene

When using do not eat or drink, do not smoke. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.

Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.

Environmental exposure controls

Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water. Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Stability and reactivity

Measures indicated are for the substance at 50 - 70% concentration in synthetic oil, as marketed

Chemical Stability:

Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Reactivity:

No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Hazardous reactions: dust may form explosive mixture in air. Avoid excessive heat

Conditions to avoid: excessive heat

Incompatible materials: strong oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products: no decomposition if used as directed.

Disposal considerations

Measures indicated are for the substance at 50 - 70% concentration in synthetic oil, as marketed

The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil. Dispose of contents/ container to an approved waste disposal plant. Disposal must be in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and material characteristics at time of disposal

Empty containers:

Do not attempt to refill or clean containers without proper instructions. Empty drums should be completely drained and safely stored until appropriately reconditioned or disposed. Empty containers should be taken for recycling, recovery, or disposal through suitably qualified or licensed contractor and in accordance with governmental regulations.
