Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with Section 2 of Annex XI of the Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH), it is considered justified to omit the flammability (solids or gases) study (required under point 7.10 of Annex VII) as it is not technically possible to conduct due to the substance being a liquid. It is therefore considered more appropriate to evaluate the flash point.
Furthermore, experience of use determines that it is not scientifically justified to conduct either the flammability (contact with water) study or the pyrophoric properties of solids and liquids study (both further required in Section 7.10) as there is no evidence of the test material either spontaneously igniting in air at room temperature or exhibiting flammable properties in contact with water.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex I, Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, the test material does not require classification for flammability.
