A number of public domain references were obtained with all data were assigned a reliability score of 4 in accordance with the principles for assessing data quality as outlined in Klimisch (1997). (z)-3-hexenyl salicylate was reported to be a clear/colourless liquid with a sweet, green, floral and balsamic odour.
