Each test solution required approximately 6 g to achieve an excess of test substance.

Following overnight incubation at nominal 20°C, each sample had formed a waxy solid. An additional 100 µL of distilled water was added to each sample, stirred, centrifuged and then returned to the waterbath to equilibrate, prior to analysis. The calibration line was established linearly. The incubation bath was set at temperature of 20°C over the test period.

The density values of the test solutions one, two and three were 1.436, 1.443 and 1.427 g/mL respectively.

The mean solubility of Imazalil 75SP was 1.218 g/mL of test sample solution, with a standard deviation of 0.023 g/mL. However, considering that approximately 6 g of test substance had dissolved in 1 mL of distilled water, the volume had increased accordingly. The density of the resultant solution was used to calculate the concentration in units of grams test substance per gram of solution. The numerical difference between the density and the analyzed concentration was then used to convert the analyzed concentration into a value in units per mL of water. This approach provided a mean water solubility value for Imazalil of 5.656 g/mL , with a standard deviation of 0.694 g/mL which is considered acceptable. The density of water at 20°C was assumed to be 1.0 for this calculation.

Conclusions:
The solubility of the active ingredient of the test substance at nominal 20°C in double distilled water was determined by the shake flask method to be 5656 g/L (SD(n-l) = 694 g/L).
