Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
18 June 2015 - 27 November 2015
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
(2008)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
(1995)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EPA OPPTS 830.7840 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
(1998)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Test substance was stirred for 6 hours with double distilled water at a nominal concentration of 1.01E03 g/L. After stirring the mixture was checked visually for any undissolved test material.
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
flask method
Remarks:
preliminary test
Key result
Water solubility:
1 000 g/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
2.5
Remarks on result:
other: Clear solution, no undissolved test material.
Details on results:
The water solubility was concluded to be 1000 g/L since this value is considered as upper limit for water solubility.
Conclusions:
Interpretation of results: very soluble (> 10000 mg/L)
In a preliminary test, it was observed visually that MTBAC dissolved completely in water at 20°C at a nominal concentration of > 1000 g/L. From this the water solubility of MTBAC was concluded to be 1000 g/L and the flask method was not performed. The pH of the water mixture was 2.5.
The study was based on EC A.6, OECD 105 and EPA OPPTS 830.7840 guidelines and in compliance with GLP.

Description of key information

In a preliminary test, it was observed visually that MTBAC dissolved completely in water at 20°C at a nominal concentration of > 1000 g/L. The pH of the water mixture was 2.5. The water solubility of MTBAC was concluded to be 1000 g/L and the flask method was not performed. The study was based on EC A.6, OECD 105 and EPA OPPTS 830.7840 guidelines and in compliance with GLP.
