Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

Vinyl Neodecanoate was tested at a maximum concentration of 50% in the guinea pig maximization assay. Following challange none of the animals exhibited a significant dermal response. Therefore, Vinyl Neodeconoate was not a skin sensitizer under the conditons of the study and does not require Classification and Labelling as a skin sensitizer based on EU Directives 67/548/EEC and 1272/2008 CLP. Furthermore, Vinyl Neodecanoate did not induce evidence of respiratory sensitization in a repeated-dose 90 -day inhalation study conducted in rats.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
Vinyl Neodecanoate is not a skin sensitizer in the guinea pig maximization assay.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the findings of a guinea pig Maximization study, Vinyl Neodeconoate did not meet the criteria for a skin sensitizer as per Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures.
