Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The test substance is a yellow liquid with a relative density of 0.92 under standard conditions (20°C, 1 atm) displaying a fruity olfactive note. It freezes at a temperature of -9 °C and boils at temperature higher than 313°C under atmospheric pressure (1atm).This value of the boiling point, linked with the flash point, does not trigger a classification as extremely flammable or highly flammagle liquid.

It is non-volatile (vapour pressure = 0.0656 Pa at 25°C.), so at the workplace the exposure to human is unlikely for this intermediate used under strictly controlled conditions.

It self-initiates at a temperature of 242 °C and has a flash point of 149 °C at standard conditions. It displays no flammability, no explosive and no oxidizing properties concerns. For the safety considerations, these different company internal analysis proove that this substance is stable at the storage conditions as verified by our long-term and large experience on handling and use of this substance.

It is an apolar, non-ionisable, hydrophobic (logKow ~5.07) and slightly soluble substance (water solubility < 0.386 mg/l at 20 °C). These last two values along with the biodegradation data indicate that this substance will require an environmental classification under DSD (67/548/EEC) and CLP (1272/08/EEC).
