Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Five different studies that reported Sb-toxicity data to soil macro-organisms (arthropods not inclided) were identified (An and Yang, 2009; Heijerick and Vangheluwe, 2003; Kuperman et al, 2002; Lisec, 2002; Simini et al, 2002). Tested organisms were the enchytraeids Fridericia peregrinabunda and Enchytraeus albidus, and the annelid Eisenia fetida. None of these studies, however, generated reliable data that could be used for the terrestrial risk assessment of Sb, and this for one ore more of the following deficiencies:

- nominal values were used for deriving NOECs/EC10s.

- no equilibrium period between spiking and testing

- pH acted as confounding factor

- one or more validity criteria were not met
