Description of key information

The test item was tested in two acute fish toxicity tests, as part of a large screening project. The studies were conducted 1984 and 1985 as non-GLP studies according to EPA-testing methods and published later on. The test design included analytical monitoring of the test samples, exposure period was 96 hours. Loss of concentration over test period ranged from 0 up to 15.9%
Comparable results were obtained in both tests (expressed as measured concentrations). The LC50 values were found to be 14.2 mg/l and 16.5 mg/l.

Additional information

In conlusion, it can be stated, that based on the LC50 -values of 14.2 and 16.5 mg/l observed in the two tests, the substance has to be regarded as

"R52/53 - Harmful to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment" according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) or

"H412 - Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects" according to Regulation 1272/2008/EC (CLP).
