Executive summary:

The auto-ignition temperature of the substance (2-Hydroxy-3-sulphopropyl) dimethyl[3-[(1-oxododecyl) amino]propyl]ammonium hydroxide (EC 242-893-1) in aqueous solution was investigated in a GLP-compliant study (Grevin, 2012) performed in accordance with EU Method A.15 (Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases)). The mean self-ignition temperature of the mixture was 396 ± 4 °C. The study was performed on a commercial product (aqueous solution) as the substance EC 242-893-1 is manufactured and used in a liquid form.
