Results based on the test substance linalool

Conclusions:
This 21-day Daphnia reproduction study with linalool concludes a NOEC of 9.5 mg/l and an EC50 of 17 mg/l.

One key study was identified: this assessed the long-term toxicity of  the chemical analogue linalool to Daphnia magna, in a 21-day reproduction study: a NOEC of 9.5 mg/l was determined.

Additional information

Linalool is a close chemical analogue of the test item, with similar physico-chemical properties. Results of its testing for long-term toxicity to Daphnia are therefore deemed suitable to assess the equivalent toxicity of the test item. Linalool gave a 21 -day NOEC value of 9.5 mg/l: it is reasonable to assume that dihydromyrcenol would produce a similar response in freshwater invertebrates.
