Additional information
Hexafluorosilicic acid is a strong acid that can corrode glass and stoneware (NTP: Haneke & Carson, 2001). Further testing for skin and irritation/damage was waived based on GLP Regulation Annex VII, column 2 specific rules of adaptation of 18 December 2006.
Supporting information from a non-standard histological investigation in the skin of rats, guinea-pigs and pigs also indicate a corrosive effect which may be delayed and is more marked in damaged skin (Alhassan & Zink, 1982). Human experience additionally indicates that the substance is likely to be corrosive.

Hexafluorosilicic acid is a strong acid which is classified as H314 (Causes severe skin burns and eye damage) according CLP Regulation (No. 1272/2008 of 16 December 2008).
