First-aid measures

- General advice:

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

- Following inhalation:

Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.

- Following skin contact:

Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Seek medical advice if irritation persists.

- Following eye contact:

Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Seek medical advice if irritation persists.

- Following ingestion:

If swallowed, give at least 3-4 glassed of water, but do not induce vomiting. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious or convulsing person.

- Most important symptoms and effects: Treat symptomatically and supportively.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Dry chemical, carbon dioxide (CO2), water spray or regular foam.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

For this substance no limitations of extinguishing agents are given.

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

Under fire conditions, toxic and irritating fumes may be emitted.

Dust-air mixtures may ignite or explode.

Thermal decomposition products may include toxic oxides of carbon, oxides of nitrogen (NOx), oxides of sulfur, oxides of nickel.

- Advice for fire fighter: Move container from fire area if you can do it without risk. Do not scatter spilled material with high-pressure water streams. Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent skin and eye contact in fire situations. Use agents suitable for type of surrounding fire. Avoid breathing hazardous vapors, keep upwind.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions:

- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Do not breathe vapor or dust. Remove all sources of ignition. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

- Environmental precautions:

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Shut off all sources of ignition. Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, carefully sweep up material and place in suitable labeled containers for disposal.

Sweep up and place in suitable clean, dry containers for reclamation or later disposal.

Do not flush spilled material into sewer. Keep unnecessary people away.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Use appropriate personal protection equipment. Avoid eye, skin and clothing contact.

Avoid breathing dust. Avoid creating a dusting situation.

Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Prevent buildup of static electricity.

All equipment should be properly grounded.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible materials.

Store away from heat, sparks, and flame. Keep container tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls:

Use adequate general or local exhaust ventilation to keep airborne concentrations below the permissible exposure limits.

Personal protective equipment:

Eye and face protection:       Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles.

Skin protection:       Wear appropriate protective clothing and gloves to prevent skin exposure.

Neoprene or nitrile gloves may be worn to prevent irritation and possible absorption. Cloth gloves are not recommended. Neoprene or nitrile rubber coated apron or other body covering may be required if there is a possibility of regular work clothing becoming contaminated with the product.

Respiratory protection:       In an emergency, dusk mask must be worn.

Environmental exposure controls:

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains.

Discharge into the environment must be avoided.

Industrial hygiene:

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist.

All soiled or dirty clothing and personal protective equipment should be thoroughly cleaned before reuse. Do not eat or smoke while handling this product.
