Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information:

In case of accident or if you feel unwell seek medical advice (show label or SDS where possible).

After contact with the eyes:

Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Seek medical advice in case of continuous irritation.

After contact with the skin:

Wash with plenty of water or water and soap. In the event of a visible skin change or other complaints, seek medical advice (show label or SDS where possible).

After inhalation:

Provide fresh air.

After swallowing:

Give several small portions of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media:

Use water spray (not stream) to fight fires, alcohol-resistant foam, extinguishing powder. For small amounts: carbon dioxide.

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons:

According to our present state of knowledge: none known.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

At low oxygen level: organic decomposition products.

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for fire fighting:

Use respiratory protection independent of recirculated air.

General information:

Cool endangered containers with water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Wear personal protection equipment. Keep unprotected persons away. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust.

Environmental precautions

Prevent material from entering surface waters, drains or sewers and soil. Observe local/state/federal regulations.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Take up mechanically and dispose of according to local/state/federal regulations.

Further information:

Eliminate all sources of ignition.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:

This is a research and development material and must be handled under the supervision of a technically qualified person. Avoid breathing dust/vapor/mist/gas/aerosol. Avoid dust formation.

Precautions against fire and explosion:

Observe the general rules for fire prevention. Fine dust may form explosive mixture with air.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Conditions for storage rooms and vessels:

none known

Advice for storage of incompatible materials:

none known .

Further information for storage:

Store in a dry and cool place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure in the work place limited and controlled:

General protection and hygiene measures:

Observe standard industrial hygiene practices for the handling of chemical substances. Do not eat, drink or smoke when handling. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

Personal protection equipment:

Respiratory protection:

In case of dust formation: Fine dust mask P1.

Eye protection:

tight fitting protective goggles.

Hand protection:

Protective gloves made of butyl rubber (0,5 mm) . Wear gloves for short periods only < 10 mins. The selection of appropriate gloves not only depends on the material, but also on other quality characteristics, and may vary depending on the manufacturer. Please observe information from your glovesupplier in terms of permeability and breakthrough time. The permeation time is reduced by mechanical and thermal stresses above 20°C.

Skin protection:

protective clothing.

Exposure to the environment limited and controlled

Prevent material from entering surface waters, drains or sewers and soil.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity; Chemical stability; Possibility of hazardous reactions:

If stored and handled in accordance with standard industrial practices no hazardous reactions are known.

Relevant information can possibly be found in other parts of this section.

Conditions to avoid:

none known.

Incompatible materials:

strong oxidizing agents. Strong acids.

Hazardous decomposition products

none known.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods:

Material:

Recommendation:

Dispose of according to regulations by incineration in a special waste incinerator. Observe local/state/federal regulations.

Uncleaned packaging:

Recommendation:

Completely discharge containers (no tear drops, no powder rest, scraped carefully). Containers may be recycled or re-used. Observe local/state/federal regulations. Uncleaned packaging should be treated with the same precautions as the material.
