Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure
- Inhalation: Remove the person from exposed area to fresh air area immediately. Seek medical advise if the exposure was significant in term of time and quantity.
- Eyes: Wash immediately with large amounts of water for 15 minutes; keep the eyelid open with the finger. Seek medical advise.
- Skin: Remove contaminated clothes and shoes immediately. Wash affected area with soap or mild detergent and large amount of water until no evidence of chemical remains (15-20 minutes). Seek medical advise.
- Ingestion: If swallowed wash out mouth with water provided person is conscious. Do not induce vomit. Seek medical advise .

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, CO2, foam, dry chemical powders

Product arising from burning: Thermal decomposition or combustion may include toxic and hazardous fumes .

Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure demand and protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection (dust mask included) to avoid contact and prevent inhalation of dust.
Sweep up with inert absorbent material, and clean with plenty of water. Avoid raising dust. Ventilate area.
Send to the storage waiting for disposal procedures.
Avoid any release to environment.

Handling and storage

Handle away from flames and sparks
Handle in a ventilated area
Avoid contact with incompatible materials/substances
Wear appropriate PPE
Keep away from water drainage system
Do not eat, drink or smoke in work areas
Wash hands after use
Remove contaminated clothing and PPE before entering eating areas

Avoid direct contact with the skin and eyes, the inhalation of dust
Keep containers tightly closed, in cool, well-ventilated environments, protect from sources of heat
Avoid direct sunlight

Exposure controls / personal protection

The choice of appropriate engineering controls must be based on risk assessments performed by the employer .

Eye/face protection: Safety glasses according to standard EN 166; face-shield
Hand protection: Gloves resistant to chemical products according to standard EN and Community directives. The material of the gloves must be waterproof and stable for contact with the substance. Choose the material of the gloves on the basis of the breakthrough time, rates of permeation and degradation.
Body protection: Choose the suitable protective gear according to the activity and the exposure.
Respiratory protection: If the risk assessment envisages the need for self-contained breathing apparatus, use respirators tested and approved by competent certifying bodies, such as NIOSH (USA) and CEN (EU). For short and minimum exposure, use a full-face mask (EN 136) with built-in respirator; for more intense and long-lasting exposure, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Stability and reactivity

The substance is stable in normal temperature and pressure conditions and if stored in closed containers in a cool, ventilated area.

Disposal considerations

Refer to Community/national/local waste disposal regulations
