Melting point: <-60°C at 1013 hPa, based on read-across from trichloroisobutylsilane

A melting point value of <0 °C is reported in a MSDS (Crompton Corporation, 2002). The original reference was not available for review and no further information is available. The reliability of this result is not assignable. As the only measured data is reliability 4, a substance with similar structure has been chosen to read across from. A measured (OECD Guideline 102)

melting point value of -60°C at approx. 101.3 kPa for trichloroisobutylsilane is available. Therefore, the melting point of trichloro(3-chloropropyl)silane is expected to be below -20°C, and in accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII the melting point study does not need to be conducted if this is the case.
