Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The melting point of the test substance was determined to be -21.5 °C according to ASTM E 537-07 Standard Test Method for the Thermal Stability of Chemicals by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (equivalent to EU Method A.1).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-21.5 °C

Additional information

The melting point was determined by ASTM E 537-07 Standard Test Method for the Thermal Stability of Chemicals by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (EU Method A.1) in 2010 by the Výzkumný ústav organických syntéz a.s (Bartoš M). No crystallization peak on the DSC cooling curve was detected. The heating curve shows a broad endothermic peak approximately at -28 °C to -14 °C with a peak temperature of -18.0 °C. The transition temperature (melting point) is defined as the intercept of the extrapolated baseline and the tangent to the leading flank of the transition peak at the point of maximum gradient (ASTM E 537). Accordingly, the melting point is reported as -21.5 °C.
