- Following skin contact: Rinse skin with water/shower. Remove contaminated clothing and wash skin with soap and water.
- Following eye contact: Wash thoroughly with fresh, clean water for 15 minutes holding the eyelids open.
Regardless of the initial state, refer the patient to an ophthalmologist and show him the label. If there is any redness, pain or visual impairment, consult an ophthalmologist.
- Following ingestion: In case of ingestion, consult a doctor showing him label to judge the opportunities of monitoring and subsequent treatment in hospital, if necessary.
Make drink an antidote (solution of sodium sulfate or magnesium sulfate) if the person is conscious.

-Main symptoms and effects, acute and delayed :
Irritant to eyes, skin and respiratory ways.
Product may have effects on nervous system.
Product may cause hypokalemia, resulting in cardiac and muscular disorders.
Insoluble barium compound inhaled have been the source of barytosis, pneumoconiosis characterized radiologically by modular opacities usually under pseudotumors without fibrosis evolution, at least when the dust does not contain free cilica crystallized.
In case of skin and eye contact :
Contact with skin : Redness. Pain. Skin burns.
Contact with eyes : Redness. Pain. Blurred vision.
If swallowed : Ingestion may cause important irritation and burns in mouth, the throat, oesophagus and stomach. In case of accidental ingestion, there is a risk of oral mucosal lesions and lesions of throat. The decomposition hydrogen peroxide leads to gastric or oesophageal distention : the local hemorrhage are possible. Ingestion may cause massive rupture of the colon with gangrene intestinal embolism.
If inhaled : Burning sensation. Cough. Breathing difficult. Breathlessness. Sore throat.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment necessary : If swallowed, make drink a sodium sulfate solution if the person is conscious.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions and Protective equipment and emergency procedures:
To the non-rescuers :
Protection equipment : avoid any contact with the skin and eyes (mask goggles in accordance with standard EN166, protective gloves in accordance with standard EN374-3 and work clothing. If necessary, in case of dust formation, wear dust mask type FFP3 respiratory protection). Keep unnecessary personnel away. Avoid inhalation of dust from the spilled material.
Flame, ventilation, dust : Keep away from any combustible substance, source of ignition, provide adequate ventilation,
Emergency procedures : If spilled quantities are important, evacuate personnel only involving trained operators equipped with protective equipment.

To the rescuers
first aid workers will be equipped with suitable personal protective equipment : Protective goggles (EN166), chemical protective gloves (EN374-3), a fireproof clothing, mask type P2 P3 (EN143).
Inappropriate clothing : No data available
After contact with the product, all parts of the body that have been soiled must be washed.

- Environmental precautions: Prevent any material from entering drains or waterways.
Pick up spilled product, put it in a plastic bags or drums. Place in container for disposal of waste recovered in accordance with regulations.
If the product contaminates waterways, rivers or sewers, alert the relevant authorities in accordance with regulations.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
If spilling : Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Isolate area.
Cleaning procedures : Pick up the product by sweeping in hermetic container and evacuate to an appropriate landfill.
Washing in preference with water, do not use solvent and sawdust.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling: The requirements relative to storage premises apply to workshops where product is handled.
Handling : Handle in well ventilated area, capture dust if necessary.
Handle and open container with precaution, avoid shock.
Do not smoke. Prohibit access to unauthorized person.
Do not breath dust.
Never open packaging by pressure.
Hygiene : It’s forbidden to smoke, heat and drink in premises where the substance is used. Wash hands after any handling.
