Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity (lethality) of DIMETHYLISOPROPYLAMINE (DMIPA) to Leuciscus idus was assessed according to German standard DIN 38412, part L15 during 96h (study report, 1987). LC50_96h was determined to be 31.6 mg/L (without pH adjustment).

As a supporting study, the toxicity to Danio rerio was assessed according to GLP requirements and to OECD guideline 203 (study report, 2003). In these conditions, LC50_96h was determined to be 78 mg/L.

Both studies confim that DMIPA is harmful to fish.

In both studies, the toxicity of DMIPA was assessed after neutralisation of pH. In these conditions, no lethal effect of DMIPA against fish was observed showing that the lethal effect of DMIPA against fish was related to its basicity.
