There are no studies on hydrolysis for n-pentyl propionate and per Column 2; 9.2.2.1 of Annex VIII, this study is not required as the pentyl propionate is readily biodegradable.

Using the QSAR approach and modelling - EPI Suite (EPA's Office of Pollution Prevention Toxics and Syracuse Research Corporation (SRC), the calculated half life for pentyl propionate at 25 °C at pH 7 and 8 are 2.537 years (approximately 926 days) and 92.679 days, respectively.
