Preliminary test

From the start of the study upwards the weight of the sample decreased significantly. At 22°C the sample weight had decreased by 25%. After the experiment it was observed that the test item was evaporated from the sample container.

Main study

First experiment: The extrapolated onset temperature of the peak was 20.315°C.

Second experiment: The extrapolated onset temperature of the evaporation peak was 31.352°C.

Third experiment: The extrapolated onset of the evaporation peak was 20.650°C.

A strong endothermic peak between -50°C and 50°C was observed. In all experiments, evaporation of the test item was the reason for the endothermic effect and after the experiment, the test item was evaporated from the sample container.

Conclusions:
The boiling point of 1,1,1-trifluoroacetone determined using DSC was 20.5°C at 1001 +/-1 hPa.

Measurement of the boiling point of 1,1,1 -trifluoroacetone was performed using DSC method according to standardised guidelines (OECD TG 103, EU A.2 and OPPTS 830.7220) under GLP conditions.
