Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General advice:
Consult a physician. Show safety data sheet or label to the doctor in attendance.
If inhaled:
If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Consult a physician.
Skin contact:
Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. If irritation develops, get medical attention
Eye contact:
Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do.
Continue rinsing. Consult a physician.
If swallowed:
Rinse mouth with water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Consult a physician

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:
For small (incipient) fires, use media such as "alcohol" foam, dry chemical, or carbon dioxide.
For large fires, apply water from as far as possible. Use very large quantities (flooding) of water applied as a mist or spray
Unsuitable Extinguishing Media:
High-pressure water streams
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: .
Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors.
Vapors or gases may ignite at distant ignition sources and flash back
Development of hazardous combustion gases or vapours possible in the event of fire.
Hazardous Combustion Products: oxides of boron, oxides of carbon
Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suites

Accidental release measures

Advice for non-emergency personnel: Appropriate protective equipment must be worn when handling a spill of this material. Do not breathe vapours, mist or gas. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Beware of vapours accumulating to form explosive concentrations. Vapours can accumulate in low areas
Advice for emergency responders:
Protective equipment see section 8.
Environmental precautions:
Do not let product enter drains.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Contain spills immediately with inert materials (e.g., sand, earth).Transfer liquids and solid material to separate suitable containers for disposal. Dispose of properly. Clean up affected area

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:
Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. No smoking. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment. Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting equipment. Wear protective gloves and
eye/face protection. Avoid breathing vapor or mist. Use only non-sparking tools.
Hygiene measures:
Change contaminated clothing. Wash hands after working with substance.
Storage conditions:
Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.
Grounding and bonding required. Store under an inert atmosphere. Store away from excessive heat (e.g. steampipes, radiators), from sources of ignition and from reactive materials. Keep separated from incompatible substances.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate Engineering Controls:
Provide local exhaust ventilation system. Ventilation equipment should be explosion-resistant, if explosive concentrations of material are present.
Personal protective equipment:
Eye/face protection:
Face shield / safety glasses. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under
appropriate government standards such as EN166 (EU).
Hand protection:Handle with gloves
Glove material:
Viton (R)
Glove thickness:
0,70 mm
Break through time:
> 480 min

Glove material:
Nitrile rubber
Glove thickness:
0,40 mm
Break through time:
> 240 min
The protective gloves to be used must comply with the specifications of EC Directive 89/686/EEC and the related standard EN374
Body Protection:
Use chemically resistant apron, impervious clothing, flame retardant antistatic protective clothing.
Respiratory protection
Where risk assessment shows air-purifying respirators are appropriate use a full-face respirator
with type ABEK (EN 14387) respirator cartridges as a backup to engineering controls. If the respirator is the sole means of protection, use a full-face supplied air respirator. Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government
standards such as CEN (EU).

Stability and reactivity

This material is considered stable. However, avoid contact with ignition sources (e.g. sparks, open flame, heated surfaces).Reacts with water but not violently (generates dangerous gases or fumes).Product will not undergo polymerization.Violent reactions possible with:
Strong oxidizing agents, Strong acids

Disposal considerations

For disposal, incinerate this material at a facility that complies with local, state, and federal regulations.Burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber but exert extra care in igniting as this material is highly flammable. Contact a licensed professional waste disposal service to dispose of this material.
