Description of key information

Flash Point (decamethyltetrasiloxane): 62 - 63°C (Closed cup)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Two reliable flash point data are available for the substance. Flash point of 62°C and 63°C were determined for the substance using relevant closed-cup test methods. The results are considered to be reliable and used as weight of evidence. In a secondary source to which no reliability could be assigned, flash point value of 63°C was reported for the substance.

Since the flash point is close to the flammability classification cut-off of ≤60˚C (measured flash point of 62 - 63°C), the substance is therefore classified conservatively as flammable liquid according to the criteria of EC Regulation 1272/2008.
