Conclusion on classification

Acute aquatic toxicity:

Based on the available study data on short-term aquatic toxicity tests (fish, daphnia, algae) butyl acrylate is not classified and labeled according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.

Chronic aquatic toxicity:

Butyl acrylate was tested in a 21-day chronic life-cycle study with Daphnia magna and the NOEC is 0.136 mg/L. Thus, the substance has to be classified as environmental chronic toxic Category 3 (H412: Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP).
