Description of key information

One reliable (Klimisch 1, guideline- and GLP-compliant) study addresses the long-term toxicity of dimethyl terephthalate to freshwater invertebrates.
In this study (Government of Japan, Ministry of the Environment, 2002c), Daphnia magna were exposed to high purity DMT, dosed from a stock solution prepared with THF:
D. magna 21 -d reproduction NOEC (semi-static): 1.72 mg DMT/L;
D. magna 21-d LC50: >6.01 mg/L;
D. magna 21-d EC50 (reproduction): 3.67 mg DMT/L
These endpoints are mean measured values and and 6.01 mg DMT/L represents the maximum concentration achievable under the test conditions.
