Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The information requirements for the registration of methyl undec-10-enoate according to Annex VIII are fulfilled by the data delivered from three studies on hydrolysis, biodegradation, and adsorption/desorption. All three studies are adequate key studies for the respective endpoints.

The results show that methyl undec-10-enoate is easily degraded at pH 1.2 or 9. At pH 4 and 7, hydrolysis is marginal. The main metabolite observed during hydrolysis of methyl undec-10-enoate is undec-10-enoic acid.

In water, methyl undec-10-enoate was found to be readily biodegradable. Therefore, according to REACh annexes IX and X, section 9.2, column 2, no further biodegradation or degradation testing is required.

The measured adsorption coefficient log Koc ranges between 2.6 and 3.5 because 4 components are identified. Taking into account the individual Koc data of the four components in a weighted approach, a Koc of 2431 is found (i.e. log Koc= 3.385).
