First-aid measures

General information:

Immediately remove soiled, soaked clothing and dispose in a secure manner.

Remove victim from danger zone. If there is a risk of unconsciousness, position victim in lateral recumbent position. Ensure proper self-protection of the first-aider. Get medical aid immediately. Symptoms of poisoning may develop several hours after exposure.

Skin contact:

Wash affected skin areas immediately with plenty of water. Put on protective clothing. Seek medical aid.

Eye contact:

Rinse eyes immediately with water and well opened eyelids for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses. Consult an ophthalmologist.

Inhalation:

Remove victim from exposure to fresh air. Bring victim into a relaxed position. Apply artificial respiration, if necessary. Get medical aid immediately.

Inhale dexamethasone spray immediately.

Ingestion:

Rinse mouth immediately and drink plenty of water. Avoid vomiting. Get medical aid immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

Water, dry extinguishing media, carbon dioxide, foam.

Special protective gear for fire fighting:

Heavy chemical protective clothing with self-contained breathing apparatus.

Special hazards:

In case of fire, the following gases may be released: Nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide.

Further information:

Fire residues and contaminated extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Cool containers with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal Precautions:

Use personal protective clothing. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Ensure sufficient ventilation and/or use resirotory protection. Keep people in distance and stay on the windward side. Remove all ignition sources.

Environmental precautions:

Collect contaminated extinguishing water. Dike spill area to prevent spreading. Prevent spilled material from entering surface water and soil. Knock down vapours with water fog.

Cleaning and taking up procedures:

Pump into suitable containers. Take up residues with suitable absorbent material and dispose in accordance with local regulations. Use neutralizing agent: weak acid solution.

Handling and storage

Handling

Minimize handling, mainly supposed to be used in closed systems. When not handling in closed systems, ensure good ventilation, avoid contact with eyes, skin, clothing and avoid inhalation of vapour/aerosols. Use protective eyewear/facemask and gloves. Keep away any source of ignition.

Storage

Store under cool, dry and well ventilated conditions in well sealed containers away from heat sources, direct sunlight and all ignition sources.

Stability and reactivity

Stable under storage conditions mentioned above

Avoid contact with oxidizing agents, nitrosating agents, strong acids.

Corrosive to metals

Disposal considerations

Remains and unclean packagings should be treated as hazardous material. Waste can be disposed of by removal to a licensed chemical destruction plant or by controlled incineration with flue gas scrubbing. Do not discharge to sewer systems.

Disposal of waste and packagings must always be in accordance with all applicable local regulations.
