The octanol-water partition coefficient (logKow) for 1,4 -Butynediol as measured according to OECD Method 107 is -0.73 at 25°C (BASF AG 1988). This result is supported by an estimated value of -0.93 at 25°C (ISP 2010; Meylan et. al. 1995).
