If inhaled:

Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention. Immediately administer a corticosteroid from a controlled/metered dose inhaler.

On skin contact:

Immediately wash thoroughly with plenty of water, apply sterile dressings, consult a skin specialist.

On contact with eyes:

Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.

On ingestion:

Do not induce vomiting. Immediately rinse mouth and then drink 200-300 ml of water, seek medical attention.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Symptoms: The most important known symptoms and effects are described in the labelling (see section 2 the safety datasheet) and/or section 11 the safety datasheet.

ndication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Treatment: Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific antidote. Pulmonary odema prophylaxis. Medical monitoring for at least 24 hours.

hydrogen chloride, nitrogen oxides, carbon oxides

The substances/groups of substances mentioned can be released in case of fire. Flammable Liquid. Vapours may form explosive mixture with air. Pressure inside container is increased when heated, and may cause explosion.

Advice for fire-fighters

Special protective equipment:

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.

Further information:

Vapours are heavier than air and may accumulate in low areas and travel a considerable distance up to the source of ignition. Do not allow to enter drains or waterways. Evacuate area of all unnecessary personnel. Keep people away and stay on the upwind side. Fire debris must be disposed of in accordance with offical regulations.

Environmental exposure controls

Do not discharge product into the environment without control.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Use personal protective clothing. Information regarding personal protective measures see, section 8. Keep unprotected persons away. Avoid all sources of ignition: heat, sparks, open flame. Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not breathe vapour/spray. Breathing protection required. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing.

Environmental precautions

Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater. Inform authorities in the event of product spillage to water courses or sewage systems.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

For small amounts: Contain with absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, general purpose binder, sawdust).

For large amounts: Dike spillage. Cover with blanket of foam (alcohol-resistant foam). Pump off product.

Avoid sources of ignition. Cleaning operations should be carried out only while wearing breathing apparatus. Wear suitable protective equipment. Use spark-proof tools and explosion-proof equipment. Do not rinse off with water or aqueous cleaning agents. Collect waste in suitable containers, which can be labeled and sealed. Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.

Reference to other sections

Information regarding exposure controls/personal protection and disposal considerations can be found in sections "Exposure Controls/Personal Protection" and "disposal considerations".

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas. Protect against moisture. Protect against heat. Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves. Keep container tightly sealed.

Protection against fire and explosion:

Vapours may form explosive mixture with air. Prevent electrostatic charge - sources of ignition should be kept well clear - fire extinguishers should be kept handy. Empty containers may contain flammable residue.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Suitable materials for containers: glass, Polytetrafluoroethylene-coated (PTFE), Stove-lacquer Isolemail PM Noir, Stainless steel 2.4600, thermoset Proco-Email

Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Storage at a proportionate temperature is required, to avoid 'breathing' of containers. Protect against moisture.

Storage stability:

Storage temperature: 20 °C

Storage duration: 6 Months

From the data on storage duration in this safety data sheet no agreed statement regarding the warrantee of application properties can be deduced.

Protect from temperatures above: 35 °C

The packed product must be protected against exceeding the indicated temperature.

Specific end use(s)

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection:

Breathing protection if gases/vapours are formed. Gas filter for gases/vapours of organic compounds (boiling point >65 °C, e. g. EN 14387 Type A) Suitable respiratory protection for higher concentrations or long-term effect: Self-contained breathing apparatus.

Hand protection:

Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)

Suitable materials for short-term contact (recommended: At least protective index 2, corresponding > 30 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374)

butyl rubber (butyl) - 0.7 mm coating thickness

Supplementary note: The specifications are based on tests, literature data and information of glove manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the permeation time determined through testing.

Eye protection:

Tightly fitting safety goggles (cage goggles) (e.g. EN 166) and face shield.

Body protection:

full protection suit with breathing-air supply (f.e. according to EN 943)

General safety and hygiene measures

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe vapour/spray. The substance was registered as a transported isolated intermediate. The manufacturer/importer has received the confirmation by the user that the substance is used under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with art. 18 of the REACH regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. Possibility of hazardous reactions

The formation of gaseous decomposition products builds up pressure in tightly closed containers if the product is greatly overheated. Evolution of corrosive gases/vapours. Reacts with water and basic components to generate heat. Reacts with activated carbon. Reacts with alkalies and metals. Reacts with alcohols, amines, aqueous acids and alkalies. Reacts with water and moisture, with formation of hydrogen chloride. Partly very violent reactions with bases and numerous organic classes of substances such as alcohols and amines. Impurities promote decomposition. Energy is released when reacting with e.g. acids, alkaline reacting substances, amines or catalysts. ppm traces of heavy metals reduce the onset temperature and lead to instability and exothermic product release with gas formation. Vapours may form ignitable mixture with air.
