Description of key information

The substance is a liquid therefore the flammability will be deducted from the flash point.

Furthermore, no testing is required for aerosols, flammable solids/gases, pyrophoric solids and self-heating properties as the substance is a liquid.

Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

The test on the flammability (Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.10) was not performed as the test substance is a liquid. For liquids the primary value for ease of ignition is the flash point conducted using Method A9 ‘Flash Point Method’ of Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008. The result of the flash point test is used to allocate a liquid substance into the appropriate flammability class.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation 1272/2008. The flash point was determined to be 30.5 °C (please refer to section 4.11). As a result the substance is considered to be classified for flammable liquids: category 3 (flammable liquid and vapour) under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended for the ninth time in Regulation (EU) No 2016/1179.

Furthermore, the substance is not considered to be classified as readily combustible solid, self-heating substance, substances which in contact with water emit flammable gases, pyrophoric liquid, pyrophoric solid, flammable gases or as aerosol.
