Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A recent and well documented study was selected from the large body of available information (see literature search). The study by Meng (2009) was the most reliable and well documented, though not necessarily the most accurate. The direct measurement of the density by Dreisbach (1949) is likely more precise, but with potentially greater uncertainty with respect to isomeric impurities. The available information is considered to be adequate for the purposes of classification and labelling and risk assessment, according to Annex XI, 1.2, based on the weight-of-evidence.
